Ecological Genomics of Speciation

企画者:Hiroshi Kudoh (Kobe University)

概要:Advances in genetics, molecular biology, population biology and phylogeny reconstruction enabled us to study important ecological questions at both ecological and genomic levels, and this integrated methodology often referred as to ecological genomics. This symposium aims to highlight and tackle ecological issues in the processes and consequences of speciation by using the approach of ecological genomics. The field has attracted researchers with broad background and interests. Examples include reconstruction of past ecological interactions during speciation, insights into ecological and genetic consequences of the particular speciation mode, elucidation of character and niche shifts during speciation, identification of genes that contribute to reproductive isolation, and recreation of ancestral character states.
