The urbanization with the land use changes was very remarkable in Nagoya city during the 20th century. These changes have many effects on ecological system. The objective of this study was to identify the relationship between the distributions of mammalian and the land use changes. In this study, GIS was used for the comparative analysis of land use changes in 1950s, 1970s, and 1990s, especially in the forest area, paddy filed area and park area. Meanwhile, we used the presence only data of mammalian in Nagoya city and the environmental predictors that affect the occurrence of the species such as climatic, geographic, and land use variables (e.g., porosity and circularity of green area distribution) by the Maxent model. The Maxent modelling predicted the species probability distribution and generated its map.In the expected results, after comparative analysis of land use changes and comparison with species potential distribution area, we can more clearly grasp the tendency of land use change and effects on mammalian in Nagoya City. It is thought that these results are utilizable for the measurement and policy decisions about conservations of the regional ecosystem and biodiversity.
