Fire ant panic in Japan : now and future

*MITSUHASHI, Hiromune(Museum of N&HA Hyogo, University of Hyogo)

In early summer of 2017, the first invasion of Fire ants was found at Kobe Habor, Japna.  One after another, fire ants have weekly discovered in the several sites. In response to the events, Association of the Ecology Society Japan(Ecosystem Management Committee) proposed the document of recommendations to the national government in consultation with stakeholders. This document contained the review on fire ants studies, effective monitoring, and interventions by national/local governments. We introduce the correspondence and issues by administrative organizations and natural history museums. Also, I will propose the future strategy, especially for local actions.
