Trial of canoe ecotours on rivers in the Setouchi region, Yoshii River, Okayama Prefecture, Japan【E】

Introduction
The presenter has developed eco-tours using canoes on rivers in Okayama Prefecture.
As a result, canoeing proved to be a suitable method for educating the natural environment of rivers.
In this presentation, trial tours were conducted in rivers and sea areas to further develop eco-tours using canoes.
Method
The eco-tour was conducted in the lower reaches of the Yoshii River in eastern Okayama Prefecture and the waters around Maejima Island.
The presenter rode a canoe and gave a lecture to the eco-tour participants.
Results
The presenters were able to explain the local nature during the tour.
Based on the exploration, the writer proposes plans of canoe nature experience comprising river canoe and sea canoe such as: (1) Temporary waters of Onoda river. (2) The bridges at West Japan railway company San-yo line. (3) A village of the kissing loach (Leptobotia curta) of Uryu River. (4) Sakane weir. (5) Sedimentary rocks and sea cave of Maezima island. (6) Granite rocks.
Discussion
It was found that experiencing the nature of rivers and sea areas by using a canoe was a great experience for environmental learning.
