Rickettsia tamurae は、日本で初めて分離されたものの、いまだ十分に解明されていないマダニ媒介性細菌である。これまでに日本の南部および西部で広く検出されているが、ヒト症例の報告は1例のみであり、その病原性については未解明な点が多い。本研究では、西日本および奄美大島におけるサンプリングに基づき、R. tamurae の生態学的知見を報告するとともに、スピルオーバー予測を通じて、特に感染リスクが高い地域および時期を提示する

Rickettsia tamurae is a poorly understood tick-borne bacterium first isolated in Japan. Although it has been widely detected in southern and western Japan, only a single human case is known and its pathogenicity is incompletely understood. Based on sampling in Western Japan and Amami Oshima, additional information will be presented on the ecology of R. tamurae along with spillover forecasting to highlight locations and periods of especially high risk.
