ESJ70 Abstract

自由集会 W03  3月19日 10:30-12:00 Room C

Diverse approaches to current ecological research in Latin America【E】

Jose GUTIERREZ-ORTEGA(RIKEN iTHEMS)

Latin American countries have a great biodiversity and excellent opportunities to establish international collaboration networks. However, there might be cultural barriers that impede having a direct communication between researchers in Japan and Latin America. Sometimes we might even do not know how to start communication, or we might feel that researching abroad is impossible. Thus, the purpose of this workshop is to provide a space where knowledge and experience from diverse topics related to ecology can be shared among researchers. Speakers and commentators from different fields will show us some of their projects' objectives and progress, experiences, and advices when researching in Latin America. With this, it is pretended to create a friendly group discussion to encourage communication and possible opportunities for exchange and collaboration.
